Wed 26 August: Eiffel Tower and the west part of Paris

I have to admit, I was wrecked this morning.  I needed some time at the apartment just to sort and re-organise things.  So Daryl, Katrina and Stéphane set off to do the west part of our supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Tour Map.  I joined them all later in the morning.

First stop:  The Eiffel Tower.  I didn't miss a thing because they had queued for hours!

This is shows  Allée des Cygnes (Way of the Swans) in the middle of the River Seine.  At the far end is one replica of the Statue of Liberty.  We walked down the island to the Statue of Liberty with Mark Ewings (niece's husband) so it's been mentioned in this blog already.

After leaving the Eiffel Tower, Daryl, Katrina and Stéphane walked through Les Invalides, heading for Pont Alexandre III (Alexander III bridge) and the Grand Palais.  I went in the car with Jean-René and Yvonne.  Don't know how he does it, but Jean-René seems to find a parking spot wherever he needs it!
