Mon 17 August: Troyes

Troyes (pronounced "twu") is a wonderful medieval village about an hour's train ride from Paris.  We met Sue and John at Gare de l'Est and off we went on a high-speed train.

The old part of Troyes, with the medieval houses and town squares, is an absolute gem.  Took thousands of photos, but will just show a few here.

Three suspicious-looking characters in a 'street' in Troyes:

Daryl, John, Sue

Houses of all different colours make a beautiful, patchwork town.

There are many of these old water wells around Troyes.  So easy for us now just to turn on a tap.

The church of St Pierre and St Paul

And another candle lit for Colleen

A wonderful old sign for "St Peter's Cellar"

La tour de l'Ovfèvre (Goldsmith's Tower) - one of the many heritage buildings.
